2024 Free Fashion Dreamer Update: What’s Included + for How Long

Posted on January 12, 2024March 28, 2026 by Carmen

Buy Fashion Dreamer:

  • Fashion Dreamer Nintendo eShop
  • Fashion Dreamer on Amazon

Fashion Dreamer has launched their second free update since the game came out. Titled “Dramatic Fair,” this limited time event is exclusive to Online Mode (does not require a subscription for this game) and unique challenges with special rewards, a stamp collection system, tons of new ways to earn e-points and Creative Keys, new hairstyles and colors, new eye designs, new garment/accessory items (with the theme “dramatic”—think crowns and jewels), additional poses and photo items, more photo frames to choose from, showroom display items you haven’t seen before, and fresh color palettes.

Fashion Dreamer Update vs 1.3.0 (Dramatic Fair) will last from Jan. 17/2024 – Feb. 7/2024.

A few things you may have noticed: 1) the updated content is limited edition rather than permanent, and 2) it doesn’t add much to a full-priced game that was drastically lacking in things to do in the first place.

I always appreciate when developers continue to update a game after release. I know that’s becoming the industry standard (“games-as-a-service”) but, really, there’s not much in it for a title like Marvelous’ Fashion Dreamer that doesn’t have subscription or microtransaction components like, say, Disney Dreamlight Valley, for example. I get it. It’s a lot of work for seemingly nothing.

My issue isn’t that the free content isn’t juicy enough, it’s that I paid full price for a game that can be experienced in its entirety in a few hours. You collect clothes, style Muses, get digital currency, and collect clothes again. That’s it. Fashion Dreamer desperately needed something more for it to be worth the price it’s selling at currently ($49.99 USD).

What I Need in a Fashion Dreamer Update

Some quick fixes I would need to see in the game for an update to be worth my while (and yours):

  • Larger variety in Muse requests/quests: I don’t want to keep seeing Muse wishlist as “use socks” or “contains blue.” Get more creative, more specific, and more fun.
  • More ways to customize items: As it currently stands, you can do more customization in Animal Crossing outfits than you can in Fashion Dreamer. And Fashion Dreamer is supposed to be the game about fashion!
  • Additional Muses: I’m tired of shuffling back and forth through each Cocoon and dressing up the same handful of Muses again and again and again. Provide more NPCs for offline players!
  • Stronger Muse personality traits: Right now, Muses are flagged as sleep-deprived/mysterious/spicy but the only thing this really effects in their (badly localized) dialogue. Why not give Muses more personality and tie these traits to their Lookit requests somehow?
  • All clothing is unisex: Right now, the male-flagged clothing suuuuucks compared to the female-flagged clothes. And honestly, it’s 2024; who cares who wears what? For a game all about dressing up, it sure does limit how much you can dress up!
  • More things to do: Bingo, a photobooth, and outfit design does not a full game make. I would suggest tweaking the faux social media mechanic or showroom element to be more engaging and involved.

What do you think about the Fashion Dreamer update? Was it enough to make you get back into the game or buy it for the first time? Let me know your thoughts in the comment and I’ll always take them into consideration for any updates I do!
