Dear Future Me,
It’s been a while since you have booted up this gem of a game, huh? I know you loved it from what you played so far. It can be hard to get back into an older save file after some time away, so I’ve tried to make it as easy as possible for you.
Here are some helpful notes (hopefully), from one gamer to…the same gamer years later:
You bought a Tulip Cake because it looked cute. You also held onto it because it looked cute. You have no plans for it. Gift or devour at will.
The green gemstones in the pink chest are for Balor, he loves shiny trinkets. The flowers are for Celine, she likes anything in bloom. March likes ingots, so he’s easy. And the cheese…the cheese is for Reina; a woman after your own heart. The cheese is in the white chest, though—that’s our “kitchen.”
You are choosing between Reina and Balor. Reina is objectively the better choice. But you are leaning toward Balor because he doesn’t have a family…and you think you can fix him. (Stay toxic.)
If you need a Liked Gift in a pinch, make a bunch of hard-boiled eggs. You have an ability that provides a chance for transforming dishes into Universally Liked gifts. You can tell by the little present by the dish icon.
DOZY LIKES DUCK EGGS. PLEASE DELIVER UNTO HIM A DAILY SUPPLY OF DUCK EGGS. Ehem.
The animals do NOT put themselves away at night. You have to go to the coop/barn and select Send Inside. They don’t like being left out alone at night, even in nice weather.
You have everything you need to unlock the next segment of the mines in the white chest by the west path out of your farm. Go down to the last unlocked level and read the plaque to get started.
You can jump and swim in this game! Don’t forget.
Oh, and you have magic you can use. Restore stamina, grow crops faster, create rain. But it’s limited and recharges slowly so spellcaster beware.
Sap is great for crafting and slow to come by! Don’t toss it or sell it!
You can make your own animal feed using hay/grass seed (from cutting grass) and water chestnuts (picked by the river on the left side of the map). So don’t waste money on feed stock.
You can also make grass starter at the mill but you need to find a ton of sod, so it’s not really worth it.
I left some of each animal product in the chests within each barn/coop, in case you need them for a quest.
You bought all the animal hats. You can equip them in the animal menu. Baby animals can’t wear hats.
If you buy a cosmetic and don’t unlock it with the action button, you can re-buy it and accidentally waste money on duplicate capybara bowler hats. Don’t ask me how I know.
March and Olric are brothers. Please don’t forget this again and casually post a meme about them being boyfriends. Get it together, girl!
I spent all your savings on cosmetics. Sorry not sorry. I logged back in and replenished your money. Sorry about that.
Our home theme is pastel pink + greenhouse. But I bought you stuff for rustic or goth, in case you are in one of your Moods.
The flower field is just for vibes. I had no plans there. It’s a hassle to grow but very pretty. Don’t forget to sell the blossoms at the end of the month.
I left the fields empty but equipped the rain spell (L2) if you want to get up and running quickly. A good ratio for crops is 4X9 renewables, 2X9 single harvest, and 2X9 long growth (6 days+). Remember to leave space for the bonus seeds you get while hand watering!
Your priorities (besides getting wifed up) are: exploring the mines, leveling up your fishing skill, and remembering to dig daily at the ruins.
Happy farming. And welcome back to Mistria! ❤️
