Catto’s Post Office: Sometimes an Hour is All You Need

Posted on August 5, 2025January 3, 2026 by Carmen

I have played a lot of JRPGs, so I am very used to 100+ hour play times. But sometimes I just want to get in and out of a game in one evening. I like a mix of both: long, drawn out experiences, and bite-sized chunks of fun. Just like with any hobby or entertainment, variety is the spice of life.

Catto’s Post Office is a perfect example of an adorable and short cozy game. Playable in under an hour, Catto’s Post Office is a bite-sized game about delivering packages, helping Kitty citizens around town, and maybe even celebrating a birthday (if everyone didn’t forget…).

I first heard about Catto’s Post Office at “The Game Awards for Games Who Can’t Afford The Game Awards,” which has to be one of my favorite online events of all time. It gives space to little games that will never make the Big Stage, including micro-experiences like Catto.

What attracted me to Catto from the get-go was the cute art style. (Also, I really needed a break from farming sims.) The little kitty faces are to die for! And the game did not disappoint in the cuteness factor when I finally got my hands on it. The writing is pure and silly and wholesome, and elicited an audible “aweeeeeee” from me on more than one occasion.

You really feel like these developers get cats and cat-lovers. All the jokes landed, and a few even made me squeal with glee—from the “eepy” cat who was up all night meowing to dodging puddles so as not to dampen the peets. It was an all-around good time and the perfect serotonin boost at the end of a long day.

And maybe I’m just having a sensitive gangster weekend, but it even brought a bittersweet tear to my eye a few times. Mainly at the end credits. And the birthday party. And the “be tough or be sad” dialogue branch. (Okay, I was definitely having a sensitive gangster evening.)

Right now, Catto’s Post Office is only available on PC, but I can see it being an awesome mobile game sometime in the future if the developers so choose. It’s definitely worth the few dollars you pay for it. You can also Wishlist it on Steam and watch for a discount.

And please take screenshots of your favorite Catto buddies and tag me in them: @cozygamereviews.com on BlueSky and @CozyGameReviews on Tumblr.

Stay cozy, gamers!
