Fields of Mistria. Build the farm of your dreams as you discover a world brimming with possibilities. Magic, romance, and adventure await.
On February 22, 2026, Fields of Mistria developer NPC Studio launched their fourth major update for the Early Access cozy Steam farming sim. Fields of Mistria has been available to download and play since August 2024, but the dev studio continues to expand the game and grind toward a 1.0 release.
Back when I first played Fields of Mistria, I had a blast. Sure, you hit a story wall after about 40 hours and a lot of quality-of-life upgrades were still in the works…but the game was fun. I can’t remember the last time I got so sucked into a new farming sim (just kidding, I can, and it was Roots of Pacha). The grind was satisfying and the overarching storyline of helping to rebuild the town made me feel connected to the world and characters immediately. Also, the cute decor was to die for.
Fields of Mistria’s Fourth update is packing. Let’s take a look at some highlights.

Completion of the Mines Questline
This is one I have been anxiously awaiting! I got as far down into the mines as I could in my save file. As soon as the mines quest was blocked, I could feel myself start to get antsy. They did a great job of making the mines interesting by looping them into a larger quest, adding bundles, and having underground bug collecting.
The completed path opens up a “Breaking the Ruins Seal” questline as well as a Ruins Biome.
I cannot wait to see where the full expanse of the mines takes me now. Though I will certainly have to start a new save file to remember where I left off and what I was doing at this point.

New Secret Bachelorette
Woah, now that was unexpected! The new secret bachelorette unlocks once you complete the mines quest. My guess is it will be some sort of magical girl character as a foil to the hot dragon man you can now date.
Once she is unlocked, NPC Studio notes that” secret Bachelor and Bachelorette will have new schedules and dialogue.” Nice! The town of Mistria is already so lively and engaging; I love that they keep adding to it.
Lost & Found Box
Pockets full? No worries! A new lost and found box will sit by Balor’s (AKA my future husband) stall and collect items that would have otherwise been left on the ground. (Mines excluded, darn.)
There are a few caveats, though: It only populated once per week on Mondays and you must have your town at Bronze Rank or above.
I really wish it could syphon leftover loot from the mines, though. Maybe we can upgrade it in a later update.

Apiaries & Terrariums
You can officially keep bugs and bees on your farm! And what’s a cozy game on Steam without BEES? Place them in their designated home, fulfill item requests (flowers and forageables), and you’ll get honey, fish bait, or bug pheromones in return. Gross! Haha
As you probably guessed, fish bait can be used to lure fish and bug pheromones can do the same for insects. So collecting fish and bugs around the map just got a lot easier. Great for the completionist gamer.
You’ll need to have your town at Ruby Rank or higher to unlock these items.

New Crafting & Farming Items
The fourth Fields of Mistria update also opens up:
- A placeable forge and mini-mill
- Seed maker
- Artifact replicator to make decor
- Auto feeder (by popular demand!)
- Perpetual soup pot
- Pet skins (dropped by monsters)
New Perks, Spells, & Monster
You also get:
- 2 new crafting perks
- 3 new combat perks
- 1 new blacksmithing perk
- 4 new mining perks
- 6 new monsters throughout the mines
- New cosmetic items and furniture
And my absolute favorite silly bug update: Birthday anticipation dialogue for NPCs who haven’t appeared yet no longer fires before they are in Mistria.
No more wishing well to people who don’t exist yet. I always liked the “I have a girlfriend from summer camp who lives in Canada” vibes of these glitch conversations though.
What Next…
To be honest, I haven’t touched Fields of Mistria since the first release. I’ve been trying to hold off until 1.0 is ready to go. But I don’t know…I’m getting the hankering to dive back in after seeing how far the game has come now.
What do you think? Are you picking Fields of Mistria back up for the Fourth update? Have you been playing all along?
