The My Time at Evershine Kickstarter campaign, launched by Pathea Games, reached its funding goal of $200,000 within just 35 minutes of going live. The game, which is the third installment in the My Time series following My Time at Portia and My Time at Sandrock, offers a sandbox RPG experience where players build settlements, gather resources, and form relationships, including romantic ones.
What is My Time at Evershine?
My Time at Evershine is a cozy building/resource management life sim where you play as the governor of a new settlement. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world 330 years after a major disaster. Your goal is to recruit settlers, build up infrastructure, and lead your town, all while dealing with the looming threat of a powerful empire. The game features building, farming, crafting, and even romance with several unique characters. You can also explore, battle, and complete side quests to expand your settlement, either solo or in co-op mode with friends.
It’s the next game in the My Time franchise, following after rough-around-the-edges but deeply beloved My Time at Portia and cozy runaway hit My Time at Sandrock.
My Time at Evershine’s Kickstarter Success
My Time at Evershine’s Kickstarter success has unlocked numerous stretch goals, and the campaign continues to attract more backers. They have now raised over $2million with 48-hours to go in the fundraiser. The game is expected to release in 2026.
In comparison, My Time at Sandrock raised $524,770 from 9,915 backers in 2023 in a similar push for funding and My Time at Portia received $146,697 back in 2017.
According to VGinsights.com, Sandrock boasts 88.4% positive reviews, $17.2M in gross revenue, and a whopping 738k units sold. Take that with a huge grain of salt, though, as VG Inisghts is an extremely rough estimate from data scraped off the web.
Here are some of the perks Backers can expect to see by supporting My Time at Evershine’s Kickstarter:

A Brief History of the “My Time” Franchise
The “My Time” franchise began with My Time at Portia, released in early 2019. The game drew inspiration from titles like Dark Cloud 2 and Harvest Moon, blending life simulation, crafting, farming, and RPG elements. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, players rebuild a workshop in the town of Portia, where they gather resources, construct items, and interact with townspeople to progress the story. My Time at Portia was well-received for its addictive gameplay loop and evocative world-building.
Following the success of Portia, Pathea Games launched My Time at Sandrock in 2023. This sequel expanded on the foundation of the first game by introducing a new desert setting, more detailed crafting mechanics, and deeper, richer storytelling. Players once again found themselves in a post-apocalyptic world, but this time tasked with restoring a dilapidated desert town. Sandrock introduced new systems for combat, character relationships, and town management, allowing for more in-depth interactions and richer world-building.
My Time at Evershine promises to continue the narrative set after Sandrock, with players establishing a new settlement and facing challenges from the foreboding Duvos Empire. The game retains the core elements of crafting, exploration, and relationship-building but introduces new mechanics like multiplayer co-op and a more complex romantic system.
The franchise has been praised for its unique post-apocalyptic world, charming characters, and blend of simulation and RPG elements. Each entry in the series builds upon its predecessor, adding more depth and complexity to gameplay, while maintaining the approachable and heartwarming feel that fans have come to love. Pathea Games has also garnered a dedicated fanbase through active engagement with the community, incorporating feedback to improve each title.

What I Want to See in My Time at Evershine
Having played both My Time at Portia and My Time at Sandrock, there are several things I’d love to see improved or expanded in My Time at Evershine based on player reviews and my own experience:
- Improved Combat System: The combat in Portia and Sandrock felt functional but basic. Many players, including myself, hope for a more refined combat experience in Evershine with better enemy AI, more diverse attack moves, and smoother controls to make battles feel more dynamic and engaging.
- Better Festivals & Events: The festivals and minigames in Sandrock felt clunky and convoluted, with performance issues running amok for several of the annual holidays. I think “simple is sweet” when it comes to festivals and I hope Pathea find a way to make these events richer deeper and rather than busier.
- Multiplayer Experience: Evershine is set to introduce co-op multiplayer, which is something many fans have been eager for. I’d love to see it fully integrated into the story mode with seamless transitions between solo and co-op play, without sacrificing narrative flow or gameplay quality.
- Performance Optimization: Sandrock was an improvement over Portia in terms of optimization, but performance issues like frame rate drops and long load times persisted, especially in larger towns or complex environments. For Evershine, I hope these technical hiccups are ironed out, making the game run smoothly even on Nintendo Switch.
- More Interesting Mining Maps: Mining for resources is a huge part of the My Time games, particularly since this is often where you gets glimpses into the “pre-apocalypse” world ruins. However, the mining system is super repetitive and the maps all look the same after a while, even using the same paths and mechanics from floors above. Let’s hope they shake things up this time!
These are some of my most anticipated improvements based on feedback from the community and my personal gameplay experience. It’s exciting to see how My Time at Evershine will evolve the series further!
Conclusion
I love the My Time series and will absolutely buy, try, and review any game they put out. However, I don’t fund Kickstarters as a general rule—I’ve been burned too many times before!
