The wait is almost over—InZOI’s early access launch is right around the corner, and I’ve gathered all the key details so you’re fully prepared. Console versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox are in the works, though no official dates have been confirmed just yet.

If you’re unfamiliar with InZOI, here’s a quick rundown: Developed by Krafton, this ambitious life simulation game is set to shake up the genre with an unprecedented level of customization and immersive AI-driven experiences. Since its initial reveal in late 2023, anticipation has only grown as players eagerly await the opportunity to shape their own virtual lives in ways never before possible.

Character Creation
I’m a sucker for highly detailed character creation. It seems InZOI’s character aesthetic is borrowing from the smooth, cutsie, almost “filtered” aesthetic that has become uber popular amongst The Sims Custom Content lately.
Your in-game character, known as a ZOI, comes with a highly detailed character creator. Players will have unprecedented customization options, from physical appearance to personality traits, hobbies, and more. A previous demo even showcased Canvas Mode, where players could share their custom ZOI creations with the community.
Build Mode
I suck at building/decorating houses in games like The Sims and Animal Crossing—even though this is by far my favorite part! But that’s what Pinterest inspo is for, right?
InZOI’s robust build mode caters to both casual and expert builders. From quaint starter homes to elaborate mansions, players can design interiors and exteriors using an advanced toolset. One standout feature is the AI-powered decoration tool, which assists with textures, wallpapers, and even furniture layouts.
Open-World Exploration
Unlike traditional life simulation games, InZOI offers a seamless open world—no loading screens, no restrictive zones. So far, three locations have been revealed:
- Dowon – A bustling urban city inspired by South Korea.
- Bliss Bay – A coastal town reminiscent of American beachside communities.
- Cahaya – A tropical paradise inspired by Indonesia’s stunning resorts.
Not only can players explore these areas freely, but aspects of the world—including the weather—are fully customizable. Personally, I can’t wait for a non-Westernized urban experience in my simulation games for once!
Everyday Life & Careers
Otherwise known as: The meat of the game.
From cooking and cleaning to socializing and working, InZOI brings a heightened sense of realism to daily activities. Jobs and careers are also region-specific, meaning different areas will offer unique employment opportunities. Confirmed professions include Firefighter, Convenience Store Worker, K-Pop Trainee, \Amusement Park Worker, Surf Shop Employee, and Fast Food Worker.
With more careers planned, the developers promise a dynamic job system where choices impact your ZOI’s future.
AI Features: A Game-Changer or Controversy?
One of InZOI’s most intriguing aspects is its AI-driven social system. Relationships with other ZOI characters evolve based on your choices, emotions, and past experiences. NPCs will react naturally to events, fostering friendships, rivalries, and even unexpected life moments.
Krafton has been transparent about its use of AI in InZOI, particularly in NPC behavior, world design, and creative tools. While some players welcome the innovation, others have voiced concerns about AI’s role in content generation. The developers have reassured the community that AI tools are optional and can be toggled off, allowing for a more traditional gameplay experience if desired.
One of the most exciting AI-driven mechanics is the Thoughts System, where ZOI characters will reflect on their actions and experiences, shaping their personalities over time. This means that each ZOI you create will develop uniquely based on how you play.
