Marvelous USA & XSEED Games Announce Strategic Changes for Expanding in the West

Posted on August 13, 2024March 28, 2026 by Carmen

According to a Press Release, it seems that Marvelous USA will start self-publishing games developed by Marvelous Inc, while XSEED will focus solely on third-party publishing. As a Rune Factory fan, I don’t expect any changes in game availability or localization quality.

Here’s the full Press Release:

TORRANCE, Calif. — Aug 13, 2024 — Marvelous USA, Inc. and XSEED Games today announced strategic organizational changes to support expansion plans from parent company, Marvelous Inc. Under the new structure, XSEED Games will continue to discover and publish third-party titles, such as past breakout indie hits Potionomics and Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin, and upcoming titles The Big Catch and Moonlight Peaks. Marvelous USA will be responsible for publishing the Marvelous family of games, including the flagship STORY OF SEASONS and Rune Factory series. Additionally, Marvelous USA is providing business, operational, and marketing support to Marvelous Inc.’s arcade business unit, including the first Western product, NARUTO Emblem Battle, currently rolling out in arcades across North America.

Marvelous Inc. is taking a more holistic view as it grows its Western footprint, presenting owned IPs through a singular global brand. The changes strengthen the organization as it moves forward with larger, more ambitious scope of development and budgets, the aforementioned Western expansion of its arcade business unit, and upcoming milestone anniversaries for the STORY OF SEASONS and Rune Factory series. The distinction further allows XSEED Games to pursue titles with more freedom as it continues the legacy of discovering and publishing third-party gems from around the world, now with a more focused approach.

Information about Marvelous USA’s products can be found at www.marvelous-usa.com. Fans can also check out the latest videos from the Marvelous family of titles on YouTube and get updates by following on Facebook, X, Instagram, and Threads.

Information about XSEED Games’ products are also available at the Marvelous USA website. Fans can follow XSEED Games on the official channels on Facebook, X, Instagram, Twitch, and Threads; and join the discussion on their Discord server at: http://discord.gg/XSEEDGames.

Headquartered in Torrance, California, Marvelous USA publishes PC and console titles from its parent company including the renowned STORY OF SEASONS, Rune Factory, and DAEMON X MACHINA series. Additionally, Marvelous USA provides operations and marketing support for the organization’s growing arcade business unit in the West.

XSEED Games is the independent-minded publishing brand of Marvelous USA, Inc., and publishes third-party video games on PC and consoles in North America. Formed in 2004 by a small group of industry veterans, XSEED Games’ diverse portfolio includes past breakout indie hits such as Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin and Potionomics, along with upcoming titles Moonlight Peaks and The Big Catch. Additionally, it has built a reputation for bringing high-quality Japanese IPs to North America such as Granblue Fantasy: Versus, Corpse Party, and Ys, and remains ever dedicated to its “indie spirit, player-first” approach for quality games.
